Stephanie is a multidisciplinary designer, visual artist and community organizer in Brooklyn, NY.
Their thirteen years of experience as a graphic designer spans branding, web and digital design, social media strategy and collateral, educational materials, data visualization, motion graphics, reports and presentations, print design and photography. Clients have included the United Nations, GLAAD, Vice Media, and a range of nonprofits, unions, grassroots organizations, startups, and companies in the fashion and beauty industries.
They hold an MFA in Graphic Design from the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA), where they were mentored by renowned designer and educator Ellen Lupton, and featured in Extra Bold: A Feminist, Inclusive, Anti-racist, Nonbinary Field Guide for Graphic Designers by Lupton and Jennifer Tobias (Princeton University Press).
In addition to their design practice, they are a community organizer, having co-founded a robust political educational community for artists focused on class consciousness. The project received an OBIE Award for its impact on the NYC creative community, was invited to become a member organization of The People’s Forum, and their work is in the Center for Liberatory Practice & Poetry Library. They also engage in mutual aid work.
They have lectured at MICA, taught at Rutgers University, and continue to be passionate about using design as a tool for justice, accessibility, and collective empowerment.
